How the teachings are supported: DANA

The tradition of Dana has been around since the time of the Buddha. It serves a number of purposes: firstly it is a sign of respect an gratitude for the teachings that one has recieved, and to ones teacher. Secondly it ensures that the teachings themselve can roll on, and thath other people may benefit in the same way that you have. It is an important act, but above all it is important that what you give sits right with your heart, is according to your means, and feels like an appropriate gesture for what you have recieved.

Unsure about the suitability of a course for you [or you for a course]? Then e-mail your questions/concerns to us at enquiries@themetteyyafoundation.com.

A note on cost of retreats The price shown for the Foundation Retreat is only the cost for food and accommodation and a small percentage towards the travelling expenses incurred. The instruction and tuition is offered on a donation basis as is the tradition. Levels of donation are not suggested - most participants are touched to offer what they can.

Bookings policy and Cancellation

If you make a deposit and can't make the retreat, we'll roll the deposit over to another retreat in the next 12 months as long as you cancel up to 18 days prior to the retreat, otherwise we will have to keep the deposit to cover costs incured due to late cancelation. We are a non profit making orginisation and simple cannot afford to cover these costs ourselves, we thank you for your understanding about these matters in advance.
